Dr Ahmed El-Sobky

Dr Ahmed El-Sobky is the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority since 2020. In this capacity, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare services and accessibility in Egypt.

He also serves as a Member of the UHC2030 Steering Committee, contributing his expertise to global efforts in advancing universal health coverage and is the General Supervisor of two pivotal projects at the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP): the Hayah Karima Project and the Universal Health Insurance Project, positions he has held since October 6, 2019. Dr El-Sobky previously served served as the Deputy Minister of Health and Population for Monitoring and Follow-up affairs from June 2018 to May 2023.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Diagnostic Radiology from Menoufia University, a Master of Science in Clinical Service Operations from the Harvard Medical School earned in May 2023, an Executive Diploma in Public-Private Partnership in Healthcare from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management earned in May 2023, a Master's degree in Public Policy with a specialized focus on Global Health Issues from The American University in Cairo and MBA in Business Administration and Management from ESLSCA University.

Dr El-Sobky joined the IHF Governing Council in October 2023.
