Mantwa holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Cape Town, Post-graduate Project Management and Travel medicine certificate from the University of Witwatersrand, Master of Medicine in Public Health Medicine (MMed) from the University of Witwatersrand, and a Fellow of the College of Public Health Medicine SA (FCPHM). In post-specialization, she has worked as a Public Health Medicine Specialist at City of Joburg Health Department. Her focus in this role was mainly on non-communicable disease prevention and health promotion through intersectoral and multidisciplinary approaches. She then moved to a role of a medical manager at a provincial tertiary hospital where she focuses on healthcare organization, health management, and is a custodian of clinical governance for continuous improvement in quality of healthcare services offered. She has a passion for health system strengthening and disease prevention to improve the quality of tertiary care provided to women and children in South Africa.
