Membership types

There is a membership type to suit each kind of organization around the world, from national associations to individual hospitals.

Full Members

Associations and bodies representing hospitals and healthcare service organizations, such as national or regional hospital associations, and ministries of health.

Premier Associate Members

Hospital and healthcare organizations with five or more facilities, as well as entities such as healthcare purchasing companies.

Associate Members

Individual or small groups of private and public hospitals, medical centres, and professional associations.

The IHF community includes national and regional hospital associations, ministries of health, health service and healthcare organizations, professional associations, and other hospital-related companies. With over 130 member organizations

  • How can my organization become a member?

    Submit your application and we will contact you to guide you through the process. We will get to know you and your organization a little, select the right type of membership for you, and follow our governance process to bring you on board.

  • Is my organization already a member?

    If your organization is part of a national hospital authority, you could already be an affiliated member. You can look for your hospital authority in our list of members above. If you are not sure, you can contact us to ask for help.

  • Can organizations from all over the world join the IHF?

    Yes. We welcome applications from all countries and territories.

  • What are the differences between the types of membership?

    Full membership is reserved for national or regional hospital associations, and ministries of health. 

    Premier associate members come from include hospital and healthcare organizations with five or more facilities, as well as entities such as healthcare purchasing companies. 

    Our associate members are individual or small groups of private and public hospitals, medical centres, and professional associations.

  • How much does membership cost?

    Fees for full members are calculated using the National GNI and World Bank classification of countries.

    Premier Associate membership: 10,000 CHF (Swiss francs)

    Group Associate membership:

    • 2 to 5 healthcare facilities: 5,000 CHF (Swiss francs)
    • Over 5 healthcare facilities: Premier Associate membership at 10,000 CHF

    Stand-alone Associate membership: 1,000 CHF (Swiss francs)

    Membership fees are based on calendar year, whatever date you join.

  • What are the benefits of IHF membership?

  • What is the application process?

    Once you submit the application, our membership team will review the details and contact you to explain the next steps. This can involve requesting further details to establish the correct membership type for your organization. Once our team has processed a new member request, they are recommended to the IHF Executive Committee for approval. Once approved, the team will organize an onboarding call and provide an invoice for the membership fees.

  • How long does IHF membership last?

    Membership is renewable every year. We will send you all the details each January.

  • Once I am a member, can I use the IHF logo on my website and business documents?

    Yes, we will send you the correct IHF logo to use as well as the terms of use.

  • Do you provide grants to join the IHF?

    Grants for hospital associations in low-income countries to join as members are available from the Dr Kwang Tae Kim Trust Fund.

  • How can I contact you with another question?
