5th Saving Lives Sustainably Global Forum
The role of procurement and supply chain management in delivering more sustainable services can never be overestimated. Globally over 70% of healthcare emissions come from the products we buy, use and dispose of. Every part of the product lifecycle becomes relevant and needs to be taken into consideration.
This global forum exemplifies a partnership approach calling for collective action. The event presented and debated many rich experiences, reflecting on the challenges and opportunities to deliver real impact around the world.
The virtual event is organized by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Sustainable Healthcare Coalition (SHC), Health Care Without Harm, and the Secretariat of the UN Interagency Task Team on Sustainable Pocurement in the Health Sector (SPHS), with the support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The Geneva Sustainability Centre was proud to be included in the panel session on leadership with key leaders from the UK, Sweden and Colombia. Developing leadership skills on these topics is essential to help us all transform to a net zero, resilient and sustainable health sector and world. The Geneva Sustainability Centre looks forward to supporting this process through a learning programme that includes masterclasses, study tours and webinars.
