H20 Summit
Held at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, the H20 Summit was an opportunity for discussions covered sustainable financing for health, including pandemic preparedness and response. Recommendations will be shared with G20 Health Ministers ahead of their meeting later this year – increasing the focus on global health challenges. The Summit was opened by Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO.
Day one focused specifically on sustainable financing for health and in particular the new Financial Intermediary Fund (FIF) for Pandemic Preparedness and Response (PPR). Speakers on day one will be made up of leading figures from the finance community, politicians, and global health experts.
Day two focused on other pressing global health issues, looking at health in the digital age, antimicrobial resistance, and the growing burden of non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease.
Ronald Lavater, CEO of the IHF, represented the global voice of hospitals at this summit.
