Established in 1999 as a healthcare accreditation body by the then Department of Health, Taiwan Hospital Association, Taiwan Non-Government Hospitals and Clinics Association, and Taiwan Medical Association. Its purpose is to promote, execute, accredit and certify the nation's healthcare quality policies, as well as to strengthen healthcare organizations' service quality management, promote harmony in the relationship between healthcare providers and patients, and enhance the nation's healthcare quality.
