Craig John Edwards is a Chartered Engineer and senior healthcare infrastructure leader with over 25 years of experience leading complex hospital estates and engineering operations across the UK and Middle East.
He has served at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi for the past decade and currently leads facilities management, biomedical engineering, and capital development for the 732-bed tertiary Medical City. Craig provides strategic oversight of large-scale infrastructure programmes, operational transformation initiatives, and performance-based service models that directly support high-acuity clinical care. He also serves as Chair of the SSMC Sustainability Committee, driving alignment with UAE NET Zero agenda and embedding environmental stewardship within healthcare operations.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Building Services Engineering and an MBA focused on Healthcare Estates Strategy. Craig is committed to advancing practical, scalable innovation that strengthens system resilience, enhances patient safety, and enables clinical teams to deliver world-class care.
