David N. Bartholomew, FACHE is a lifelong advocate for health professionals and international education. He serves as Senior Vice President, Learning at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in Chicago, where he provides strategic leadership for the organization’s career services, credentialing, professional development, and publishing portfolios. His responsibilities include oversight of ACHE’s in-person, virtual, and hybrid learning offerings at both the chapter and national levels, stewardship of ACHE’s Congress on Healthcare Leadership—one of the field’s premier convenings and now in its 69th year—and oversight of ACHE’s Fellow credential (FACHE).
David assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Learning in January 2019. In this capacity, he leads the strategic direction of ACHE Learning, driving innovation across the organization’s educational portfolio and advancing new learning modalities that support healthcare executives throughout their careers. His work focuses on aligning education strategy with the evolving needs of healthcare leaders and the broader healthcare environment. During his time at ACHE, he has also helped contemporize the organization’s publishing portfolio through a digital-first strategy designed to meet the evolving needs of both higher education and executive learners.
Prior to joining ACHE, David spent more than 20 years in senior and strategic roles spanning healthcare licensure education and professional publishing. His career reflects a sustained commitment to lifelong learning, leadership development, and the advancement of healthcare management education.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a master’s degree in International Affairs from the University of Kentucky’s Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and currently serves on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board, District 5. He served as a board member of the Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) from 2020–2025.
