Diana Vilela Breda is a healthcare leader with extensive experience in health management and policy. As former Chairman of the Board at Hospital Arcebispo João Crisóstomo (HAJC), she led its transformation into Portugal’s first age-friendly hospital.
A specialist in hospital administration, she has advised the Portuguese Minister of Health, co-founded Women Global Health – Portugal, and held several roles in a leading healthcare organization. Her career spans over two decades, including positions as International Director at Coimbra University Hospital, representative to the M8 Alliance – World Health Summit, and Executive Director of the WHS European Regional Meeting.
Ms Breda holds an MHA from Nova School of Public Health, a postgraduate degree in Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, and a Law degree from the University of Coimbra.
An advocate for age-friendly healthcare, she has contributed to numerous scientific events, fostering collaboration and systemic change. Her dedication to older adult care has earned her the Nunes Correia Verdades Faria Award and the Gold Medal of Merit from the Society for Social Gerontology.
