Kurmalaev Azamat, PhD, MD, has over 15 years of experience in healthcare, with a specialized education as a cardiac surgeon with a PhD degree, is the author of 23 scientific papers, one innovative patent and two objects of intellectual property rights. He currently is the director of Mediker Ilek LLP and Kaspi in the cities of Aktobe and Aktau, and the CEO and founder of Remedii LLP, a local ethics commission at the Astana Medical University.
Kurmalaev A.S. participated in the project on introduction of scientific and practical implementation, which was included in the database of independent experts of the NAO FSMS (Non-Profit Joint Stock Company "Social Health Insurance Fund"). In recent years, he was in top management in the quasi-public sector.
He has a master's degree in economics and a diploma in information systems. He was a member of the editorial board of the journal "International Journal of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery" and International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery.
