Dr Mattias Bjarnegård serves as Chief Development Officer at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where he leads transformation across digitalization and AI, quality and patient safety, innovation, and life science collaboration.
Trained as a radiologist with a PhD in genetics, he has more than a decade of senior leadership experience within healthcare, spanning somatic care, psychiatry, and diagnostics. His work focuses on driving large-scale transformation in complex organizations, with a strong emphasis on translating innovation into real impact for patients.
Dr Bjarnegård has extensive experience from national assignments, including advisory roles for the Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and the National Board of Health and Welfare, particularly in developing medical education at different levels.
