Mr Gerard Vincent

Mr Vincent served as IHF President from 2005 to 2007.

Now retired, he has had a distinguished career in public health management. Notably, he became Chief Executive of Hotel Dieu de Paris hospital in 1977, aged 29. He went on to work as Director for Hospitals at the Ministry of Health, where he was in charge of a massive reform of the French hospital sector. This led to his role as Social Affairs General Inspector. He remains involved in healthcare as President of the Fondation Santé Service, an organization specialized in homecare in France.

He went on to become Director General of the French Hospital Federation and later President of the Standing Committee of the Hospitals of the European Union from 2002 to 2005.

Mr Vincent holds a diploma in Hospital Management from the National School of Public Health (Rennes, France), a degree in Political Science and a Master of Arts (Grenoble, France).
