Nicola is the Manager of Planetary Health at Northern Sydney Local Health District in Australia and leads the district’s Planetary Health Framework and net zero initiatives to promote sustainable healthcare and keep people healthy, well and out of hospital. Nicola has worked in roles across NSW Health delivering state-wide preventative health policy and programs and is passionate about reducing the health impacts of climate change and safeguarding the health and wellbeing of current and future generations. In 2025, Nicola’s team were awarded the International Hospital Federation’s Ashikaga-Nikken Excellence Award for Low-Carbon Healthcare for their Net Zero Roadmap, and received the Overall Pacific Region Health Care Climate Champions Award and the Gold Award for Climate Leadership at Healthcare Without Harm’s Climate & Health Summit.
