The Association Leaders Circle is an exclusive platform for healthcare association leaders to talk about key strategic matters, share knowledge and best practices, and discuss current challenges and opportunities with peers across the world. We offer an exceptional networking opportunities, which also acts as an international incubator for ideas and solutions, enabling its members to lead their associations to greater success, as well as to invest in their own professional development.

Key takeaways from ALC virtual meeting

On Thursday 28 May, the ALC online meeting focused on "Hospitals at the heart of health system transformation".

With a keynote from the OECD and time for discussion and questions, the meeting explored how hospitals are adapting within transformed health systems, with particular attention to the shift from volume- to value-based models, changes in financing and service delivery design, and the key enablers of transformation. These include digital health and data, governance and leadership models, and workforce redesign to support new ways of delivering care.

Strategies for stronger membership associations

On 6 May 2025, the IHF’s Association Leaders Circle brought together senior leaders from hospital associations worldwide to address how they can better serve their members and sustain their operations.

The session spotlighted three strategic pillars for strengthening associations: training and education for engagement, technology for operational efficiency, and membership diversification for revenue generation. Leaders from the United States, Spain, and Malaysia shared their experiences and practical lessons.

Unlocking the Future: AI Technology and Digital Transformation in Healthcare

On 23 May 2024, the Association Leaders Circle hosted the virtual meeting “Unlocking the future: AI technology and digital transformation in healthcare” with over 60 participants from 30 countries.

Speakers from HCA Healthcare and NAVER Healthcare Lab demonstrated how AI technologies can navigate the complexities of modern healthcare delivery and addressed the potential risks of generative AI.

Cyberattacks on healthcare organizations

Hospitals hold critical and valuable information such as patient data and financial information, as well as cutting-edge research and innovation. In recent years, they have become the number one target of cyberattacks, perceived as a compliant target due to the life-and-death stakes of a hospital losing operational efficiency. On 9 May 2023, the Association Leaders Circle met to discuss past instances and how to respond to future events.
