- Entries must relate directly to the 2023 theme: Delivery of hospital care outside a hospital setting.
- Entries must be submitted in English.
- Applications will only be accepted from innovations in operation, not projects at the concept stage.
- The innovation must be in use at i) a hospital which is a standalone IHF member; or ii) a hospital which is a member of an IHF hospital association member. The endorsement can come from the CEO/CIO or similar of the hospital using the innovation.

Launching in 2023, the IHF Innovation Hub is an exciting addition to the content and activities at the World Hospital Congress.
The Innovation Hub is coming to WHC2023
Spotlighting innovative approaches to healthcare delivery within the programme of the IHF's annual World Hospital Congress, the Hub will showcase products designed to positively disrupt traditional practices to effectively deliver high-quality, patient-centred healthcare. In 2023, the i-to-i Innovation Hub theme will be the delivery of hospital care outside of the hospital setting.

From workforce to AI, and climate change to pandemics, major shifts in the healthcare landscape will require hospitals of the future to look and operate very differently. The Innovation Hub is presented in collaboration with the UK Department for Business and Trade, and Stanford Medicine.
Participants at the World Hospital Congress can visit the Hub throughout the event, following its pre-Congress launch on 24 October, to explore the innovations being presented.
On 25 October, a special session has been added into the Congress programme – a series of Innovation Ignite Talks from the companies selected to participate in the Hub.
2023 theme: Delivering hospital services outside the hospital setting
The Hub will showcase up to 15 innovative products which exemplify the 2023 theme to encourage learning around their implementation and adoption by hospital leaders. Examples include innovations in virtual care in the home and the next generation of telemedicine.
Products and services which are positively disrupting traditional service delivery practices.
Innovations with proven impact to improve access and increase efficiency of high-quality patient-centred care.
Implementations which demonstrate environmental sustainability and have the potential to scale.

What are the criteria for submitting an application to exhibit at the Innovation Hub?

What is the selection process and timeline?
Applications will be reviewed by the panel of healthcare innovation leaders serving on the i-to-i steering committee. Applicants will be informed of the committee’s decision in the week commencing 31 July. Successful applicants will be expected to attend the World Hospital Congress, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 25 to 27 October 2023.

Can I apply if my innovation is not yet being used by a hospital?
Not at this time. The objective of the i-to-i Hub is to showcase innovations which are already being used by hospitals, and in this way learn from the journey from innovation to implementation.

Can I apply if my company is not an IHF member?
Yes, but you must be nominated by an IHF member hospital or association that is currently using your product.

If my innovation is selected to be part of the i-to-i hub, will I get free registration to the World Hospital Congress?
If selected, your company will need to register for the Congress but will be given a discount code to reduce the price to 500 euros per person.

When will I find out if my innovation has been selected to be part of the i-to-i hub?
We will be informing applicants of the results of the selection process from the week beginning 31 July 2023.
